Channel letters, on a raceway, on a backer, or flush

Face-lit or halo-lit, trim cap or returns to your spec. The raceway or backer is built and wired here, so your crew hangs one assembly, not twenty letters.

Two-colour face-lit channel letters and logo on a dark metal building fascia at dusk
Two-colour face-lit letters and logo at dusk. Fabricated by Thuận Sơn, installed by the local sign company.

Thuận Sơn builds face-lit and halo-lit channel letters, also called built-up letters, to a sign shop’s or contractor’s drawing and ships them on a raceway, on a backer panel, or as individual flush-mount letters. The raceway or backer is built, painted and wired at the factory; mounting-point drawings, a wiring diagram and an install guide ship in the crate. The crew on site hangs the assembly and connects power.

Face-lit or halo-lit

Face-lit

Acrylic face held by a trim cap, LED modules inside the return, the return itself stays dark. The face is what reads at night. Printed, painted or coloured acrylic faces, to your drawing.

Halo-lit

Solid metal face, LED modules firing back at the wall, each letter stood off on spacers so the light has room to spread. The wall glows; the face reads as a silhouette.

Both in one set is a normal order: face and halo lit together, or face-lit letters with a halo-lit logo. Specify per element on the drawing.

Three mounting options

Who does what, for each of the three ways a set can ship.

OptionBuilt hereIn the crateLeft for your crew
On a racewayRaceway cut to the letter run and painted to your spec; letters mounted on it and wired to the power supply inside. One wired assembly, the drawing with anchor points, the wiring diagram, the install guide.Bolt the raceway to the wall and bring power to it.
On a backerBacker cut to your shape; letters mounted; all wiring behind one panel. Plug in and it runs. One panel, the mounting drawing, the wiring diagram, the install guide.Mount the panel and connect power.
Flush (individual letters)Each letter wired as its own unit. The letters, a mounting pattern, the wiring diagram, the install guide.Drill to the pattern, hang each letter, connect power. Your crew needs access behind the wall for the power supply.

When the brief leaves it open, we start from a raceway for outdoor sets over 16 sq ft and a backer for a complex logo under 16 sq ft. That is our default, not an industry rule. Your landlord’s sign criteria win — send them with the brief.

Engineering before production

Engineering for every order: structure, mounting points, load, wiring and power, so the sign arrives install-ready.

Engineering drawings come to you for approval first; a mockup is approved before production. Permits and any engineer’s stamp your city asks for stay on your side; tell us before production if the drawing set needs specific details for that.

Components

LED modules and power supplies are UL Recognized / UL-listed components. If your client’s city or landlord requires a UL label on the complete sign, tell us before production.

Lit test, then the crate

Every set is powered up and photographed before packing, and the photo set goes to you before the crate closes. A channel letter crate is sized to the raceway or backer, which is why it runs larger than most lines: the median crate in the records is 122 × 65 × 18 cm and about 28 kg (production records, checked 31 October 2026). Mounting drawings and an install guide ship in every crate. Shipping damage: report within 7 days with photos.

Installed photos, sent back after the local sign company or contractor hung the sign. Nothing here is a render. We do not name the business, the city or the trade.

Questions sign shops ask

Do you ship letters loose or on a raceway?

On a raceway or a backer when the job calls for it, built and wired here. Flush-mount letters ship individually wired with a pattern and wiring diagram. You choose at the drawing stage; your landlord’s criteria come first.

Can you match the raceway colour to the building?

Specify the colour on the drawing or send the landlord criteria; the raceway is painted here before the letters go on.

Who provides the sealed drawings for my permit?

We provide fabrication and mounting drawings for your approval. Permit submissions and any engineer’s stamp your city requires are handled on your side.

Rough is fine. If the sizes are in your drawings or sign schedule, say so here.
For wall signs, a photo link of the wall and where power is helps; our engineering team proposes raceway, backer or flush mount. Desktop signs and sign sets: a short note is enough.
